a/c troubleshooting - post mortem 900

The a/c in this car suddenly stopped working last month – the compressor wasn’t engaging. I tested for voltage and found 0 volts in the green/red wire leading into low pressure sensor. Next jumped 12V to this connection and compressor clutch immediately engaged. Installed used control unit, but still no voltage getting to the low pressure sensor.

I folded and took car to reliable shop. Tech tells me that he found a relay had been spliced into the wiring between the control unit and low pressure sensor and wired to one of the "dummy" switches on the left side of dash panel. I recalled cleaning the dashboard just before a/c quit - probably toggled switch off for first time in the 7 years I've owned this car.
