If you are collecting pics, you might want to include this one. The U-channel is a home center item found in the electrical section ($12), but the concept begs many solutions. I think there's a tiny pic of it in the 7/9 FAQs too, but aside from safety, it keeps the engine weight off of the pan gasket.
