Failed Jetronic #556 - What Should I do now? 200

1990 244
No fuel in rail - Relay not closing.

Took known good relay from my '91 - no change.

Jumpered from ground to Pin 86/2 on relay.
Relay closed, fuel pumps ran - car started and ran.
Removed jumper - car died

Took known good #556 Module off my '91
Car starts and runs fine.

THIS is why I have a matched pair of bricks and a matched pair of BMWs.
It makes diagnosis SO much easier!!!!!!!!!!!

QUESTIONS FOR THE BRICKBOARD

Replace with a #556, or is there a more reliable model
that will work in a 1990?
Junk yard, rebuilt, or new?
Where to buy?

Thanks!
