Pressostat code for AC S90-V90 1998

The situation you describe in the first paragraph is classic for a bad 'dash vent/floor vent' dual acting vacuum servo. Classic. A golf tee in the yellow vacuum line from the vacuum solenoids can confirm this condition.

Before replacing the Pressostat, I would hook up a low side pressure gauge to the port on the accumulator/receiver/dryer ($20 from Wal-Mart) and see if the pressostat is operating between ~25 - 45 psi when the compressor is engaged. When cycling, the compressor should run until the pressure in the low side goes down to ~25 psi and then cycle off until it reaches ~45 psi.
