Thanks for the help. I'll look into the system pressure. I may have a guage around somewhere..
The reason I doubted the low vac scenario is that it has happened once or twice on absolutely flat surface at 50-60mph (Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx, no hills). The shift in airflow happenes instantly, not incrimentally like with the vasc leak, and there is a distinc mechanical sound from the ACC control unit. Still I could be wrong. Will have my Vovlo guy look at it sometime, no rush..
Will post if there is anything interesting.
