Audio Tinkering

"Speaking of bridging, why not add a second matched dogpack and join both ins and outs to handle peak midrange acceleration?"

Way ahead of you, I actually just strapped a little bird under there next to the street dog. I got the choke from an old junkyard 240 and installed it, attached to a wire around the bird's neck. When I pull the choke he sings out. Now I've got a woofer AND a tweeter under there!

Anyway, my understanding is that you can basically combine the output of two channels of an amp to produce higher output into one speaker. I'm hoping that means I can use two of the four channels on the old 240 amp to run a right speaker and the other two to run the left.

I don't know if the 240 amp is capable of this, my best bet may still be to find a cheap amp. Here's a webpage I found with a quick search on Google, it kind of explains it: http://www.lalena.com/audio/faq/wiring/

My knowledge of audio technical mumbo-jumbo is very limited, I'm just shooting in the dark, trying to find something to do with all the spare speakers and stuff I've got.

I also have a couple 12" speakers from an old Magnavox floor stereo, I bet they'd work great as subwoofers. High resistance though, like 12 ohm. They sound clear as a bell, but driving them would take a really tough amp.

I shouldn't have started that Dogpack thing, my smart-assedness is going to get me in trouble one day.
