Oil leak from head gasket 700

A few weeks ago there was a post on the subject of oil leaks from the head gasket. I looked but could not find it.

I can confirm that this problem exists---my 88 740 B230F is doing it. It is a low mileage car, and as far as I know the engine is original. The oil is coming from two places---the right front corner of the head (which coats the water pump with oil) and the left side of the engine in the area of the knock sensor.

I noticed the leak while changing the oil. I cleaned the areas thoroughly and now, 1000 miles later, it's oily again. It's definitely oil, and not spillage, nor is it coming from the valve cover or the cam seal.

The amount of oil is not of any major concern (it gets better than 3000 miles a quart) but it is annoying as there are no other leaks. The right front leak is a lot larger than the one on the left side.
