Replacing fuel pump in 740 wagon 700

I am experiencing symptoms of a failing fuel pump. Overnight, fuel pressure seems to drop to the point where it takes me 5-6 cranks before the engine starts. Fuel filter was changed 8 months ago. Fuel pressure regulator was replaced a year ago. Is it reasonable to pull one from a junker at the pick and pull, or should I just get a new one. In any event, I plan to replace it this weekend. Any hints/recommendations/cautions/special tools/prayers I may need?

Thanks in advance!
