90 240 hot day stalled out. Restarted ok soon stalled out again. 200 1993

This was a rather hot day, coming back from the airport. Car ran fine till I got to a stop sign, car stalled. Almost starts, but basically dead. Pushed it into gas station, waited 10 mins and re-started ok. Left idling 2 mins, pushed on the gas and it starved out and would not restart. Had to have it towed home.
Where do I start? Engine did not seem low on coolant, did not appear to be overly hot, some gas smell. No problems of this sort up to this point. No check engine light by itself. Thanks!
