Starting/drivability on 1991 740 Turbo Wagon 700 1991

Hi folks. I just purchased a 1991 740 Turbo Wagon, in not running consdition. The engine cranks, and although hard to start, it will catch. When it does, it runs poorly and stalls if you try to increase RPM. The person I bought it from said the Turbo was bad. I removed the intercooler pipes from the Turbo and put 150 lb. of air pressure on it. It spins bwell, and is not noisy. I also found that the distributor hold down bolts were missing. I brought the engine to TDC, reinstalled the distributor with new bolts, cap, rotor & wires. I also installed new spark plugs. Still does the same thing. I also cleaned the wires inside the mass air sensor as well. I have not checked the timing belt yet to see if it skipped, or the ignition control unit. Those are next on my list. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem, or knows of something that I don't yet.
Thanks,
Ken
