One thing nobody mentioned, that is a possibility, is a sticky ignition switch. Not returning from the Start position- had 2 cars do this recently, a 90 and an 88. A little nudge back towards position II could be all that's needed.

If this does fix it, plan on replacing the ignition switch one'a'these days. It's separate from the lock cylinder, so no keys need to be changed. It's cheaper than you think it's going to be, from the dealer.
