Fuel tank/ hose questions 700 1991

Our 280k 1991 745 seems to have the symptoms of a leaking fuel filler hose, though I'm having trouble visualizing it. The previous owner did have the fuel pump (Regina) replaced, and looking through the access hole under the floor in the rear, everything appears to be OK at the tank, so I'm assuming the problem is further up.

Should I try to remove the interior trim to expose the filler hose further up the neck, or is this accessed solely from under the car. If from inside the car, how is the interior panel above the wheel well removed?

I've got the Rex/Regina and the 740 "body fittings" green manuals, but neither show how this hose is routed. Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks!
-Ryan
