Just how bad are the B28 engines? 200 1982

I came across a pretty nice sedan with the dreaded 6-cylinder engine.
From what I've read, these engines are only good for about 100K miles. Are they as bad as that? There must be a reason that the 260's aren't seen on the road any longer.

Would it be pretty straightforward to swap in a B21 from the same year into this car?
