Wagon 5th door gas stay - replacements? 140-160 1973

OK, here I go again. One of the gas stays or what ever you want to call them is broken (missing), the other one is still there and keeps it open most of the time. But this is dangerous concidering the purpose for which I bought hte wagon - transport of stage sound equipment. So before I go searching for parts, does anyone know of alternatives off other cars? Here in New Zealand are few Volvos, mostly Japanese imports and Holden (from Australia). So any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
