Help with B20 bolt sizes, I'm very confused! Are they metric or standard?

I'm very confused about the variety of bolts in my B20. The engine has been replaced and rebuilt, and I am having a heck of a time figuring what hardware goes where. Everyone says it's Swedish, so it must be metric right? Well after much trial and tribulation, I've determined the flywheel crank bolts to be 3/8 24 standard! Next hurdle the engine transmission bolts, the one's that go into the block are metric 10 x 1.75. The lower ones that go into the aluminum brace are 5/16 standards! Now I've noticed the head bolts are standard! What is going on here? Any help please?
