Miss it I do 444-544

Our 122 is a better car in so many ways but is much lower in the hierarchy of funk. There was always a sense of adventure going out in the 544. People flocked to it like flies to -- uh, er, -- sugar? The little guy never, ever left me stranded.

Okay, so the steering wheel popped off in my hands in rush hour traffic once, and a few times the wipers quit in heavy storms, and the brakes pulled hard right when wet, and the seat support let go once, and the antenna flopped sideways once, and it was oh so scary doing 80 with the OD engaged . . . Yeah, it was always a strange trip, but we still miss it.

Best regards,

Joe M in WV
