removing neutral safety switch - at wit's end 700 1992

I'm feeling quite the dummy today and just can't figure this out. I have the driver's side kick panel to left of radio out. I'm looking right at the shifter from driver's side. I see the little square lite bulb socket that illuminates the letters. I see the neutral switch behind that (I think). I see the threaded ends of two fasteners but going around to the passenger side I can't see the heads of the screws. Does something unsnap so you can get to them. Been stumped for hours on this... can anybody help? I've been looking thru the faq and there's some mixing of 240, 940 and 740 information on it so I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Robb
