740 headlamp swap? Custom touch? 700

740 headlamp swap? Custom touch?

I'm bored and my gray 740 is begging for something. I want to put the quad round lamp system from my 79 240 on the 740. The high beams come VERY close to the edge of the hood, as far as I can tell by holding them in various positions, trying to figure out how to go about this. The problem is the parking and turn signal lamps. Now, Might I be able to use the parking/signal from a later model 740, eliminating the need for the long lens across the bottom of the lamps, freeing up space for the round system?

Any help is appreciated, like I said the only hang up is that parking lamp, even the headlamp doors from the quad system look as though they'll fit with minimal alteration and I'd love to get on this ASAP, I've just always preferred the round system, I've done this transplant on all my 240s and I really want to see my plain gray 740 have some sort of point of interest. SOmething to set it apart.

Thanks
Ricahrd
