Seafoam...questions 200 1992

I hear about people using Seafoam to basically tune up their cars. They just add 1/3 to the gas, 1/3 to the oil, and the final 1/3 into the vacuum hose that goes into the manifold. I don't want to loosen up the gunk in my oil, because it might unlodge something thats keeping the oil from leaking.

I want to do it in my gas and the vacuum hose method, but I'm not to sure about how to do it with the vacuum hose. Could someone who has heard of this elaborate on this and tell me and others about it.
