Brake line fitting onto reman caliper.

Hi
I had to recently replace the rear left caliper on my 1990 240 DL SW. I bought a reman Bendix one and the brake lines does
not fit in to it . I also noticed that the last thread on the fitting on the brake line is bent a little .
Should I remove the whole copper line till the flexible hose on axle and then try to fit it into the axle. I am also trying to get another caliper.
Please provide tips as this issue is breaking me.
