3K changes for me too.
I think the book says 3K, unless your car is in "heavy duty" or "severe" service or something like that.

Dunno about you, but somehow the definition of "normal service" doesn't seem to apply to many actual cars that I'm familiar with. I think most cars see some stop-and-go, and some short trips, let alone bricksters treating their cars like performance cars or off-road vehicles. Um, guilty as charged.
