Nice Knocker... 120-130 1967

Hello George:

Well, I finally broke down and visited the machinist who worked on my head. We spent about half an hour listening to everything with his very trick mechanic's stethoscope and we came up with nothing. He is as baffled as the rest of us, and he is by no means an amateur. Very bright, experienced, and pleasant.

And so, I think my quest at this point might have ended. When I get together with some other Brickers we can all have a listen, but for now my plan is "drive it until it fails." That might sound foolish, but I have no idea what else to check at this point. We all agree the sound seems to be coming from the back of the motor. Other than that, no clue.

Thanks again to everyone for weighing in. When I finally discover the source of this problem, you will all be first to know.

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
