965 - V90 1997 Front Wheel Bearing Question.... S90-V90 1997

Car has 150K miles. Have recently noticed a sound that is sort of a "thrum - thrum - thrum" sound, varies with road speed, maybe tire rotation. On applying brakes the sound fades away, and the braking sound is what I must call "hard".

I suspect the right front wheel bearing. The sound is too "hard" for me to suspect the front tires.

Stopped in at the parts counter of my local Volvo dealer to get a price and a copy of their exploded biew. The prints are good to have, shows what goes where. The price is a big hit.

The part is the hub, bearing inside. $398.00 per side.

Your ideas about diagnosis, and sources of other bearing sources will be welcomed.

Thank you,

Bob
