Not sure how to remove the trim. The windshield trim was on 90 and earlier cars, they went to the flat black seal in 91, this is a much better seal than the old ones. To go to the stainless windshield trim, you would have to order an old style seal.

If you want to stay black with the trim, you could strip them and then have them anodized black, this is really the only way to get a durable finish.
