B20E dwell and timing 1800

Normally the vacuum advance gives you about 10° so if you disconnect it it
slows the idle way down and you have to readjust the idle speed to keep it
running.

I got a few problems with your post George.

1. B20E's don't have vacuum advance. Only B18A's, B20A's & K-Jet B20F's have vacuum advance.
2. If you have vacuum advance, and it's hooked up, it should be to a port that has no vacuum at idle, therefore, it makes no difference to the idle plugged in or not.
3. Some B20B distributors are limited to around 20 crank degrees & therefore you might possibly be able to handle 20 degrees at idle + 20 in the dizzy for a total of 40.
4. If you give a B20E 20 degrees ad idle, you will smash the top ring in to a dozen pieces & blow it out the tail pipe.

What exactly is your engine, cam & distributor? There has to be a logical reason why you can use so much timing, but it's not normal.
