Air compressor cycling off/on question

IF it cycles on and off, there's insufficient charge in the system. It's tripping out on low pressure. Must be right on the edge though, since it's able to start and run some of the time.

Try this: unplug and connect together the two green wires (maybe blue wires, whatever) on the pressure switch. See if the on-off behavior is the same or different. If it no longer cycles, then it was going off on low pressure and you haven't got enough freon, probably due to a minor leak somewhere. Have a leak-check dye added to the system when recharging.
