Oxy sensor 200

I have replaced the cat,on a 1990 dl but I am having a problem removing the Oxygen sensor. Have pre soaked and added heat but still cant free it. Should it be replaced every 50k the Oxygen sensor? Should I buy the high end sensor Bosch or is a low priced replacment OK? I read that if I run without it there are default settings in the computer that will default to for the fuel mixture
