Changed the oil 200

So, this isn't really a question so much as my recent experience. I've had my latest Volvo for maybe three months, had no idea when the last time the oil was changed. I went in to buy some Castrol GTX 10W30 but the store only had 2 quarts in stock and they had a sale on the Castrol Syntec so I bought 4 quarts of that instead. Went to the Grease Monkey with my 4 quarts of oil and a Mann filter and had them do the dirty work.

Now, this is what spooked me out - driving home, I actually killed it at a light. Apparently, the car idles lower now after the fresh oil and it took me a while to get used to driving the manual again. Still I wonder - is this real or perceived? Or was the previous oil really, really old?

In related news, I ran a bottle of the Chevron fuel system cleaner in the last tank and filled up this time with 92 octane premium. Seeing if I can reclaim some power :) BTW, it's a 1984 245 DL.
