but then if you've already read my first post on this topic you would guess that.

While in this case B.C. is going to LED lights to avoid water damage problems, the most common reasons to change to LEDs are to reduce electrical load and increase bulb lifespan. Adding the load-matching resistors would bring the total load right up to where it was. While it wouldn't reduce the LED's lifespan it might reduce the reliability of the brake light system.
