junkyard advice around Portland, OR 200

Hiya Brickers.

I'm looking for a pair of tailgate struts, and the forums here suggested I get some from a junkyard rather than paying the $25 for a shitty aftermarket pair or the $75 for a genuine Volvo pair. I've never been to a junkyard, though, so I have some questions.

1) Will the struts from 700 or 900 series bricks work in my '88 245?

2) What yard around here in Portland should I go to? I live in SE; closer is certainly better.
