Brake Question S90-V90 1997

I have a '97 S90 that has a strange hissing noise coming from the brakes. It's like the hiss you hear as you apply the brakes, except it doesn't go away unless I jam the pedal to the floor with as much force as possible. The brakes don't feel spongy, and the car seems to stop alright (well, except for sudden stops when they all lock up because something is wrong with the ABS). Could it be something with the ABS? The light has been on and I haven't had time to see if the wheel sensors are dirty.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Steven
