Besides keeping the pressure on the culprit's insurance company, keep the pressure on the culprit too. If he's smart, we'll call his insurance company and pressure them to give you a WHOLE settlement including loss of use for a reasonable number of days.
PS: I hate to call this guy a "culprit" since it has a negative conotation and he was decent enough to notify the cops. jp
