Seat heater compatibility; early and late style wiring 700 1991

Greetings! Several weeks ago, I installed a set of velour seats from an earlier 740 ('86) in my '91 740 to replace the cracking leather originals (thank you BlueHorse!) The question I have is, can the seat heaters in the "new old" '86 seats be made to work with the '91 wiring? The connectors are different.

If it means pulling the heater elements out of the '91 seats and installing them in the '86 seats, I'll probably just live without them. Any thoughts from similar experiences?
