Hot Start problem -Main fuel pump -test to see if it works 200 1989

I have been having start problems while hot. After running and I try to start up it just keeps cranking. If I wait about 3 minutes it will start with my foot on the accelerator. However, I have to hold it down otherwise I stall. Once running thereafter I a\ ok until I shutdown again. I have put new plug wires on, replaced the Fuel pump relay with a spare, and tried a spare coil to no avail. Plugs are very white which I'm thinking is lack of fuel. I have a brand new main fuel pump and filter assembly I took off a wreck and want to install. I'm thinking its the main fuel pump because it has 505,000km on it and it is original. The In-tank pump is newer and is buzzing so I'm thinking its still functional. Also the fuel pressure regulator is fairly new.

Fuses are good also, is there a test for the main pump, I pull the fuse and nothing seems to happen
thanks
