recalibrate power seat? 900 1994

(My earlier post got swallowed in a seat cable replacement thread.)

Changed the driver's side inside up-back seat cable and everything is good mechanically. But travel is now limited to 2". Another forum talked about motor potentiometers thinking I am at the end of the track because of the way the seat was twisting (high motor torque) with the one cable not turning. UK Volvo site talked about resetting the power seat computer using OBD1 but I cannot get it to give me any code, even 1-1-1. The dealer doesn't seem to know what to do but wants $103 to look. Right... Any advice?
