Blue smoke - but only some of the time ..... 900 1992

Hello,

I own a 180,000 mile 940SET Estate and I suspect that I have a problem with the Turbocharger.

I can see the 'blue smoke' evidence at the rear of the car when it is moving up or down a sloping road - and, generally, oly when the car is moving slowly, whilst stopping and starting in traffic.

When the car is running at speed there is no evidence of 'blue smoke' at all.

The turbocharger is made by Mitsubishi and, so far as I can tell, has never been serviced or removed from the vehicle.

Can anyone offer me any advice, please ?

By the way, I have access to a used, lower mileage than mine, turbo from a matching vehicle wreck.
