OD still not engaging can the trans be bad? 700

Just went thru the whole OD routing on a 1990 740 with the AW70L transmission. The OD solenoid was bad.

It still will not go into 4th gear. Occasionally when warm it will behave, just as before. I have done all the suggested fixes. I have turned the engine over with the solenoid removed, it pumped fluid well. I have checked the wiring, even going so far as to hook a voltmeter up to the underside connection while I drove down the road. The transmission has been flushed recently.

The OD solenoid sounds good with a clear click. The trans is a replacement. Is there a missing ground strap?

Do I need to have a power flush? Is there a trick for unclogging the trans (assuming there is a clog)?

I cannot imagine that an otherwise good trans would just loose 4th gear. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Drew
