Low-Cost Electric SMALL Power Steering unit, plus other goodies. 444-544

I was reading the September '06 issue of Street Rodder Magazine, and found an article about a low-cost, very small electric power steering unit made by Flaming River. If you can get the magazine, the article begins on page 130.

It's about the size od a windshield wiper motor, and your steering shaft needs to be cut and splined to fit it. You can mount it inside the car, up under the dash, or right against the firewall in the engine compartment. I think there is also probably space right where the shaft goes into the steering box, but that's exposed, so putting it somewhere else would keep it out of sight.

The company's website is www.flaming-river.com

Also, the magazine is filled with all kinds of solutions to many of our common problems. There are multiple-speed remote wiper motors, all kinds of gauge sets and stuff like that all through the book.

I've been struggling with trying to figure out how to get power steering in my PV for years, now there's a simple unit that will fit anywhere and is just about a 1-wire installation.

Take a look at Flaming River's website and see if this unit will work for you.

Steve
