Removing intake manifold, replacing engine wiring harness 200 1984

I've almost got the courage to replace the engine wiring harness. I've read the advice posted online, I've practiced on a car in the Pull-A-Part, I've even collected extra nuts and bolts in the event I loose one or all in the process.

I'm left with two questions:

1) In the Bentley book, it recommends draining the coolant system before removing the intake manifold. Is this necessary on my '84 245? I don't see where coolant could leak out once the intake manifold is removed.

2) How to identify which connector goes to which fuel injector? Does it matter? All four have the same yellow/red and white/green wires and are roughly the same length.

Thanks!
