hi folks,
well,it seems my fuel injection system has died, the victim of bad gas. I never got a very good fuel mileage from the system, so now I've decided to convert to a couple of SU's. I don't have to deal with DEQ in my part of the country, so I'm okay there. But what I'm wondering is if somebody else has done this, and what they went through to do it. I think I can find an intake manifold for the 240, at least I hope so. It's the other stuff that I need advice on. The way I understand it, I will have to get a fuel pressure regulator, so that I don't over pressurized the carbs. my question on that is:
do I have to circulate the fuel through the system, and into the return line, in order to avoid overheating the fuel pump?
I understand, also, that I will have to get a new distributor. if I remember right, my old one is a vacuum retard, not a vacuum advance. my question is:
two I have to get one off of any particular model of car, or just anything that has a vacuum advance?
is there anything else that I haven't thought of, any sticking points? I don't want to reinvent the wheel here, if somebody else's done it better.
