problems with 760 front suspension 1990. 700

my 700 760 estate is currently annoying me.
Ive done quite a bit of work on the front suspension many bushes replaced, but since the cone bushings were replaced ive had an annoying vibration.
Their all the time, but most noticable under braking.
I took the lower arms off to clean all the remnants of the old cone bushings off the mating face on the arms. There was a lot of rust to remove before I got back to any sort of solid surface.Im wondering have the surfaces rusted so badly the bushes arent mating properly, causing this vibration?
has anyone gone down the road of replacing the lower arms to get round this problem.
What are peoples experiences of 700 front suspension problems, mines driving me nuts.
