Clutch Cable for '91 245 Available anywhere? 200

Buying a clutch cable for my '91 245 is turning out to be surprisingly difficult.

The cables shown by the online vendors (Groton, IPD, Autohaus) for my car are all obviously wrong. The bottom end is completely different. I have a tube about 1" in diameter that the bottom of the cable fits into. The cable must have a large round piece of rubber that fits into that tube. The adjustor works on the coarse threads that run the full length of the housing.

A fellow brickboarder pointed out that I could get the cable with the correct bottom end if I called Groton and asked for the Gemo(?) cable. So I did.

Well the bottom end fits just fine. The slug on the tip is a ball rather than a flat cap, but it will work.

After spending an hour on my head trying to get the old cable off the clutch pedal, I have the old cable off. The old cable has a clevis on the top, the new cable has a slug on the top. It won't work without some elaborate fabrication on the end of the lever on the clutch cable.

Does anyone know where to buy a clutch cable that will fit a '91 245? (short of paying a dealer $200 for one)

Thanks!!
