Details wanted on the stock location of Rear Speakers in a Wagon 200 1980

I am in the process of converting my 1980 245's stock 8-track player into a quadraphonic deck. The only problem is that my car didn't come with rear speakers.

I've seen wagons in the junk yard with their rear speakers installed in a variety of places, my favorite being the "stock" location (right next to the rear door sills.) Putting speakers in the rear doors seems like a bad idea, as I would think that the sound would be obstructed, and putting speakers in the very back of the car is just too far away from the front seats to create a good quad sound field. The door sills seem like a good place for the speakers.

Now, I would like any opinions on this topic, and I would also like any tips when dealing with installing the speakers on those little pieces of trim.

Thanks as always.
