engine mounts 200

When the oil filter rests on the right side motor mount, it is passed the time to replace all three mounts, especially that right side.

It is not a deferrable repair as the oil filter will ultimately crack open, causing a fast and large volume loss of oil and perhaps serious engine damage.

The first thing for you to do is to get a shop manual. Even though the Haynes is not considered the best, it has decent text and pictures for this repair. And it costs less than the Bentley.

The job can be done by a do-it-yourselfer. With some knowledge, the right tools and the new mounts (include the right mount, left mount, and transmission mount).

Do the right side first, then the left. Do the tranny mount last, maybe on another day, but soon. Its failure quickens the failure of the motor mounts.

Order the mounts from fpggroton.com or some other briclkboard advertiser.

There are many posts on this board with how-to info. Do a search.

Good Luck,

Bob
