Hitch is on, now trailer wiring...? 200

Bought and installed a used Volvo hitch on my 1992 240 wagon. It's on solid.
Now the questions of wiring for the trailer.
I've read some tips here and there on what to use, where to splice. I also seem to understand I need some kind of wire converter (european to N-A)?
If someone could point me to a site explaining this, I would be very appreciative. Or, if there is a wiring kit from Volvo that is recommended, I'd like to hear also. Thanks for all your help with this!
