Also, regarding the car's burned-out bulb warning system....

The converter I recommend (with the battery power line), because it draws so little current from the car's lights, will not trigger a false burned out bulb warning.

On the other hand, the converter I don't recommend (without the battery power line) might annoyingly trigger false burned out bulb warnings unless you very carefully balance the wiring from bulbs on opposite sides of the car.
