My experience with platinum plugs...

About 8000 miles ago I installed platinums on my wifes 87-740. Then, a couple of days ago, I pulled them , applied cooper anti sieze and reinstalled. The next morning the car has a huge miss fire. So I installed a fresh set of platinums. Now the car is running fine.

Im mystified , I double checked for proper installation, proper firing order. What else?

I dont want to blame the plugs if its something I did wrong.

I also installed platinums in my 82-240(R.I.P.)and removed them shortly to cure a miss fire.

Im running platinums in my 90-240 and is well , at this time.

Curiously when I ask for spark plugs at the auto parts store, the always, default to bosch platinums. In fact the last time I shopped at napa they told me that was all they had.
