Hello all Volvo people,

I missed you all. So, the 240 1980 blue car reminds me that you are here.

As you may remember, one of the problems with the car was that the auto trans. was slipping from 3rd. to 2nd. gear in mid driving.

I flushed out the whole transmission with about 20 liters of fluid. This seemed to work for some time - however, now the problem returns (although less severe).

My questions are these:

1. Is it possible that this happens because there is a bit of an excess of trans. oil? (I have checked this, and it may be just a bit too high).

2. Could this slippage be due to the trans. filter is clogged up again (there may be some particles loose due to the oil change).
