71' 145 strange problems... 140-160

Hey Jason,
Sounds as though it may be bands - long shot though. These are exactly the symptoms I had, which motivated my first M41 conversion (from BW35). I had bands adjusted twice, by two different tranny shops, before taking it to a popular vintage Volvo mech - Tranny was fried....conversion followed. I've purchased several cars with bad BW 35's, though never with the same symptoms. I'm not anti-auto, in fact I've had a couple very nice vintage Volvos with excellent auto trans.
If you decide to do the M41 conversion, I'll pitch in a pedal assembly, clutch cable, shifter, bell housing - w/ throw arm, and a bit-o-know-how. I may even have another tranny cross member and short front drive shaft section. You'll have to find a good trans though. You may consider going with an M40 (can be scored cheap), while you look for an M41.
Have the BW 35 checked first though.
Hope the radiator and fan worked out well!
