Dead ECU 700 1989

I have been working on a no start situation with my 89 740 B230F. It's looking like it is coming down to the LH-24 computer. The old one has part # 280000561.
Looking on E-Bay I see that some claim there is a white tagged ECU upgraded ECU with the same part number.

There are others that claim a 280000951 is an acceptable replacement.
Does anyone have anything to advise about the possibilities?
